Emily Cox is a choral singer, freelance conductor and music educator. She is a graduate of the Masters in Choral Studies from DCU and the Bachelor in Music Education from Trinity College, Dublin and the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
She has performed with various choirs in Ireland. With New Dublin Voices, she has performed internationally and competed at prestigious competitions and festivals in Spain, Italy and Germany. She has been involved with Irish Youth Choir as a singer, Conductor-in-Training, Alto Line Leader and, currently, as Youth Singing Leader. She was selected as a member of EuroChoir 2022 and 2024 and performs with their alumni network choir, Revoice International Vocal Ensemble. In 2023 she became a member of the first Chamber Choir Ireland Studio.
In 2022 she conducted the National Symphony Orchestra as part of the Female Conductor Programme finale event in the National Concert Hall. Her recent conducting experience includes leading Cantairí Óga Átha Cliath to success at the City of Derry International Choir Festival 2023 and co-establishing the DCU Orchestra in 2023 as its first conductor.
Emily is enthusiastic about music education, as part of her work with organisations such as Sing Ireland and Music Generation Dublin City. She is excited to begin her position as Director of Choirs in Terenure College and Musical Director of the Terenure College Community Choir in September 2024.
